To St. Johns School Parents:
The students did a wonderful job at the Christmas program last Friday. Now, it’s the parents’ turn!
Our school has a tradition where, every three years, the parents put on a play or event instead of the students. This year is our lucky year! At our last PTL meeting, a date was set for the afternoon of Sunday, February 23rd. A committee was formed and we decided on a musical play in conjunction with a silent auction. We want to make this a BIG event, not only to raise funds, but also to promote our school and get the word out about what a blessing God has given us in St. Johns School.
We are asking ALL parents to participate in this event, plus the four 8th Graders since this is their last year at St. Johns, and we would like the teachers to play small roles. The play we’ve chosen is “Who Stole the Tarts?” It features nursery rhyme characters like Mother Goose, Jack Horner, Miss Muffett, Bo Peep, etc. It’s a large cast. Most of the parts are small and only have a few lines, though there are a few larger parts.
Practices: Our first practice will be Tuesday, January 7th, at 7 p.m. in the church basement. We will then meet once a week in January and twice a week in February up until the performance, times and dates TBD. Dress Rehearsal will be Friday, February 21st in the evening.
Please follow the Sign-up Genius link below to sign-up.
If you absolutely refuse to act or have prior commitments which prevent you from participating, then please consider contributing your talents in other ways. (Note: This sign-up is meant to give the directors a general idea of what/who we are working with. Specific roles will be assigned at a later date. Names of individuals who previously agreed to participate have already been added.)
Thanks for your time!
