Join our Activities!

Students are held to challenges in the classroom, and similarly, we want them engaged outside class with other activities to grow their minds, direct their focus, and develop their physical performance. We offer a variety of activities to this end:

  • In grades 3-8, we acknowledge students who have earned honor roll recognition through their studies. Our school participates in the National Geography Bee, as well the area Lutheran Schools’ Spelling Bee. Students in grades 6-8 demonstrate their artistic talents by participating in the local Lion’s Club Peace Poster Contest with our school's winner going on to regional competition.

  • Part of our mission is service to God and community. Some of the ways we serve are through nursing home visits, correspondence with penpals, highway and grounds cleanup, caroling, and participation in Veteran's Day programs.

  • Our students participate in spring musicals and plays, and in Christmas programs. They are also involved in weekly chapel services and Sunday worship services, where they sing and share special music.

  • At St. Johns, music (singing/chimes/instruments) are part of the curriculum, and we love to make a joyful noise unto the Lord! We have a school choir, which participates several times per year in Sunday worship services. Many of our students also take advantage of the vocal, piano, organ, or instrument lessons that are offered during school hours at our building by Mr. Elliott Grandall.

If you are interested in having your child(ren) take lessons at St. Johns during school hours with Mr. Grandall, please complete this form and return it to the school office. If Mr. Grandall’s schedule becomes full, a waiting list will be started.
